While there are many ways you can write a purpose statement, below is a framework you can use to draft a compelling purpose statement for your organization: Diversity statements tell me that you’re committed to a racially just society but I would prefer to know why you’re committed to this work. A purpose statement goes beyond platitudes and succinctly communicates the importance of DEI in your organization. Instead of a diversity statement, why not publish a purpose statement? A DEI purpose statement differs from a blanket diversity statement in that the latter makes the change initiative both relevant and personal.
